Street Triage is a mental health triage service which is currently being piloted nationwide to help reduce the number of people held in custody. Mental health professionals are working in direct partnership with the police to provide support and advice for incidents where there is a mental health issue. To date there have been very encouraging results and NHS England is now leading work on producing a core integrated model for future commissioning of these services.

In this free to attend seminar Kate will give an overview of mental health triage and why these services have been commissioned. She will provide data on the progress of the nationally funded pilots and discuss how street triage services fit with liaison and diversion services.

Mark leads the British Transport Police street triage teams and will give a ground up perspective on how this service is working and the challenges and successes to date.
