Welfare Reform
Thursday 18th June 2015 – Edinburgh

Chaired by Michael McMahon MSP, Convener, Welfare Reform Committee, Scottish Parliament

About the conference:

The Welfare Reform agenda presents the most radical change in benefits delivery since the formation of social security. With further reform proposals laid out in the Smith Commission and with the General Election fast approaching, it is crucial for service providers and claimants to get prepared for the significant impact of the welfare devolution settlement.

Speakers include:

  • Stephen McConnachie, Partnership Manager for Work Services Directorate Scotland, Department for Work and Pensions

  • Martyn Evans, Chair, Scottish Government’s Expert Working Group on Welfare and Constitutional Reform and Chief Executive, Carnegie Trust
  • Adam Tomkins, Professor of Public Law, University of Glasgow and Board Member, Smith Commission
