This two-day international conference explores the intersections between ageing, gender and sexualities. With an increasingly diverse ageing population, there is a need to shed light on how their intersections produce uneven outcomes in later life. Gender and sexuality have been viewed as key factors affecting people’s experiences of later life, but how do age, gender and sexualities work together to form a matrix of inequalities and opportunities? Does age exacerbate divisions of gender and sexuality? Or does ageing offer opportunities to reconfigure such divisions? What, for instance, of the relationship between ageing, gender, sexuality and other intersections, e.g. with ethnicity, class, religion and disability? And how might these differ across international contexts?
Papers addressing these questions are being presented from researchers from Australia, Hong Kong, Iran, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, South Africa, Taiwan, UK and US.
Registration Fee: £80 Standard, £40 Student (limited number) lunch and refreshments provided both days. An optional conference evening dinner on Monday 6th July costs £35
