In January 2014 the LGA published a document ‘Rewiring Licensing’ that set out a range of measures to improve the way licensing services are delivered by Local Authorities and the Government, in its 2014 Autumn Statement, announced a simplification programme including a single online application process for businesses.

The Licensing Act 2003 accounts for one of the largest areas of Local Authority licensing activity and includes premises, late night refreshment, entertainment, personal, DPS and temporary events notices.

We are therefore very interested in learning about your experience in dealing with Licensing Act applications, renewals, variations etc. and we are running a Licensing Workshop to find out from you what works, what doesn’t and what improvements and changes you think should be made to the current system.

The Licensing Workshop will be on 22nd June 2015, 11.45 – 15.00, at BIS Conference Centre, 1 Victoria St, London, SW1H 0ET.  Lunch will be provided. It is open to both businesses and licensing authorities.

Please e-mail lynne.howard@brdo.bis.gsi.gov.uk to book your place.
