We now know from APM research in to The Conditions for Project Success that Governance is the key factor in project outcomes, with 'effective governance' being stated as one of the major findings.

Projects must have clear reporting lines and regular communications between all parties; other recent research supports this finding.

Good governance is not primarily the responsibility of project managers – it’s the sponsors, senior managers and executives that sit at the apex of governance in organisations that have most impact on project outcomes. Hence we need to change our focus for improvement.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Tony Wilson MBE, British Museum World Conservation and Exhibition Centre project
  • Ross GarlandChallenges facing good governance in Australia
  • Ian Triplow, Developing governance responsibilities and building competency-based roles on the Southmead Hospital Brunel Wing project
  • Adrian Pyne, Case studies session - good governance

Plus further speakers to be announced.
