About me-
Katie Kelly is the Strategic Manager for Vibrant Communities with East Ayrshire Council. She has worked in the public sector in Ayrshire for over 20 years working in various roles in community sport, health improvement, events, community planning and strategy and policy development. Katie also spent 2 years seconded to NHS Ayrshire and Arran to set up the Community Health Partnership arrangements in East Ayrshire. Over the years Katie has developed and managed a range of innovative and community focused services. Responding directly to the findings of the Christie Commission, influenced by asset and coproduction based approaches and listening to the views of local people and stakeholders Katie has spent the last two years developing and implementing the new Vibrant Communities approach as part of East Ayrshire’s Transformation Strategy. Katie is passionate about working with people and communities, reducing inequalities, servant leadership and making a positive and lasting difference to people lives.


Vibrant Communities- the Story So Far.

A presentation overviewing the transformational approach which East Ayrshire Council has taken to radically changing the way it delivers services with and for the local people and communities they serve. The approach has resulted in the achievement of over £600k savings, a realignment of the workforce using an asset based approach and in its first two years of operation Vibrant Communities has started to change culture and unlock the knowledge, skills and experience of local people and employees, to harness the enthusiasm, talent and can do spirit that exists across East Ayrshire
