Formation and structure of the Partnership arrangements for the delivery of London Bridge as part of the Thameslink programme. Specific reference to the APM booklet Co-directing change – a guide to the governance of multi-owned projects.

London Bridge Area Partnership comprises: Balfour Beatty Rail, Costain, Skanska and Siemens.

A management system capable of ensuring the effective delivery of collaborative working was put in place. This started at the top with Thameslink Major Programme Director, right down to the day-to-day management of the project. For example there is a Management Board and Delivery Partner Forum which are in turn supported by a plethora of teams and groups that consist of staff from each organisation, each working together for the overall benefit of the project.

Examples include an Integrated Schedule Board to look at programme, design and construction forums, supplier forums, safety directors forums etc. Each major group or team has established a set of specific values and a purpose that supports the overall delivery of the scheme.

This event will look at the management and specifically the recent major re-structuring of the station delivery partnership, to ensure that the risks and outcomes are still in focus.

The London Bridge Area Partnership were subjected to an audit by BSi in late 2013 and were awarded BS11000
