In this interactive session, Teri will introduce the WIPM SIG and outline how to assess and take responsibility for planning your career. Subashini will discuss her career progression route. An interactive workshop will enable you to explore gaps in your career planning and formulate an action plan to rectify. This is a joint University of Wolverhampton and Women in Project Management SIG event.

Do you have a career strategy to move you from entry level to senior roles? Do you think your achievements are recognised by others? How can you promote yourself to achieve your goals? How many of you feel you are not visible enough to have your efforts recognised and rewarded. What got you to where you are now? Technical knowledge will not necessarily get you to the next level, what has worked and what has not and how can you build your profile. Do you know where you want to be? How do you get from here to there and still maintain a balance in your life and work goals?

This session will cover:

  • Assessing your current context.
  • Understanding why hard work and meeting performance targets are not enough for career progression. Identify why and how to use others to help your career progression.
  • Explore tools and techniques to help you be smarter in the management of your career.
  • Develop a considered approach to career progression.

The focus will be on reviewing your own career and career plans, to determine strengths and gaps. It will be interactive and assist you in developing your own personal plan.

This event is suitable for women and men at all levels of the Project Management profession.
