Sir John Harvey Jones stated ‘Planning is an unnatural process; it is much more fun to do something.  The nicest thing about not planning is that failure comes as a complete surprise, rather than being preceded by a period of worry and depression.’

It’s recognised that Planning, Monitoring and Control (PM&C) is a fundamental requirement across any business to demonstrate understanding of the project scope, resource requirements, cost, timescales, change control and project status.  However, how many times do you hear that more time is spent time looking back because requirements have not been fully understood, the project scope was not fully defined or the data isn’t showing what is expected.  We’re all facing the same challenges so how are organisations addressing this to get the basics right and ensure success.

This half day event will be of interest to both PM&C individuals and project managers, who are faced with the task of applying PM&C, driving improvement programmes in their organisations on PM&C or are responsible for delivering projects.  The agenda is has speakers from a range of organisations who will be sharing stories of challenges in this area and how they are tackling them, with an opportunity for inspiring change to ensure the  APM PM&C SIG are addressing and understanding business needs. It’s also a good opportunity to network with likeminded individuals.
