In this free seminar Stephen and James will discuss the overall purpose of evaluation and measuring impact and look at perspectives and challenges around different approaches.

They will also examine the merits and limitations of counterfactual designs and Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) and take a look at what the Justice Data Lab offers and what has been learned so far.

Stephen and James will then explore which evaluation approaches are appropriate given resource constraints, the stages of programme maturity and what different types of data / information can tell us. Finally they will consider how commissioners and funders could think about impact measurement to help improve services.
