ONS would like to extend to you an invitation to attend their Census Transformation Research Conference.  Registration is free and you will be helping ONS shape the design for the UK's 2021 Census and beyond.

The conference will present the latest research and current thinking from the Census Transformation Programme, in light of the move to a predominantly online census in 2021 and the increased use of administrative data in 2021 and beyond. Further programme details of the conference will follow and will include sessions on:

  • The 2021 Census design particularly the use of administrative data, such as the address register, approach to 'follow up' and maximising response (Day 1 & 2)
  • Findings from the 2021 Census topic consultation (Day 1);
  • Our progress in accessing, linking and improving the quality of administrative data (Day 1);
  • Findings from our Admin Data Research Outputs and assessment towards making a recommendation about an admin data based census after 2021 (Day 1);
  • Plans for the 2017 Census Test (Day 2), and;
  • Opportunities for using alternative data sources to support the 2021 Census and beyond (Day 2).

The conference will end with an invited panel session which will see a selection of experts answer your questions on the presentations, exercises and conference topics in general.  There will also be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback throughout the conference.
