The COAST (Collaboration on Oceanic Airspace & System Tools) project delivered a new multi-million pound oceanic ATM system as the background in record time and under budget.

The successful project delivery required the creation and management of a multi-disciplinary international project team, working to jointly owned goals and single vision of success.

This presentation explores the principle of team engagement versus project processes to ensure success and challenges what we as project management professionals should focus on.

The COAST project won 2 international awards, but sadly was only runner-up for the APM Project of the Year 2015.
