John Beckford introduces the core ideas of ‘The Intelligent Organisation’ and shows how the synthesis of people, process and information delivers gains in effectiveness, reducing costs while increasing customer satisfaction and improving the bottom line.

         

Applicable to all sectors, The intelligent organisation is a radical model of organization built on exploiting the information generating capabilities of contemporary technologies. John will illustrate his talk with examples and case studies drawing in particular on the conception and deliver of projects across a range of industries including transport, water, utilities, social care, paper manufacturing, pharmaceutical research and professional services.

        

John is a partner in Beckford Consulting, a non-executive Director of Fusion21 Limited and visiting professor in the Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy at University College London and in the Centre for Information Management at Loughborough University. He holds a PhD in Management Systems and Sciences from The University of Hull, is a Fellow of the Cybernetics Society, a Member of The Institute of Management Services, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
