This is a joint event with RICS Hong Kong and APM Hong Kong branch

Why have the SCL found it necessary to publish a 2nd edition of the Protocol? We will examine some key changes to the Protocol and consider how it may help the Hong Kong Construction Industry.

The event will provide background information and an introduction as to why and how the SCL have decided to issue the 2nd edition of their Delay and Disruption protocol in 2017.

The update to the protocol is required due to developments in the law, changes in construction industry practices, developments in technology and the fact that the scale of large projects has increased, leading to a wider divergence between small scale and large scale projects. The previous edition was released in 2002. Even though the protocol has been developed with the UK in mind, the protocol will be a very useful reference document for practitioners here in Hong Kong.  Within this seminar Chris Morgan will present the salient issues and changes included within the 2nd edition and will highlight their potential impact upon our work in the Hong Kong construction industry.
