Outcome Measures for flood risk management. Fit for the future?

Events - Public

Starting 20 Jun 2017 - 09:00 through to 20 Jun 2017 - 17:00

This conference will consider:

• Experiences in using Outcome Measures (positive and negative). Have they delivered what is needed and do the public understand them?
• The relationship between current Outcome Measures and delivery (including Partnership Funding). Do they help or hinder partnership projects?
• Do existing Outcome Measures have sufficient flexibility to allow us to deliver less traditional, new or developing FCERM initiatives (e.g. natural flood management; catchment management; assessments using natural capital and ecosystem services)?
• What changes might we consider to ensure Outcomes Measures are fit for future purpose and enable more to be delivered for the people and the environment?

Why attend?

• Share experiences and help identify what has worked and where improvements are needed with a range of industry professionals, including Local Authorities, Environment Agency, Defra and consultants;
• Hear about new challenges for the industry and how Outcome Measures could be used or modified to facilitate better delivery;
• Discuss a range of different contexts and challenges including coastal delivery, partnership working, resilience and adaptation, natural flood management, and tidal power generation;
• Understand Defra’s view on current Outcome Measures and their future, and have your say on how you think they could be improved;
