Adequate data protection training is an essential part of a school’s journey to data protection compliance.

The training course includes role-based scenarios which typically highlight common data breaches and how to avoid them. The training is informative, interactive and very easy to understand – making the training appropriate for everyone working in education; teachers, teaching assistants, business managers and others who have responsibility for safeguarding data. The full eLearning course takes under 50 minutes to complete and provides clear and easy-to-follow guidance on Data Protection, GDPR, PECR, FOI and SARs. 

Key features of the e-Learning course:   

• A whole-School approach to achieving compliance.
• Designed to educate staff to recognise a data breach and respond quickly. 
• Scenarios for a variety of School-based roles focus on the type of data breach likely to occur in an education setting.  
• Understand your legal responsibilities under the Data Protection Act.
• An end of course assessment and certificate of completion.

Throughout November and December we are coordinating several 1:1 demo sessions for schools, colleges and academies. The demo sessions will take place over Skype or Microsoft Teams. Once registered, Leeds City Council will confirm the details of the demo session with the principal contact and send a meeting invite Sessions typically last 20-30  minutes with time for questions.
