Birmingham City Council presents ‘Hate Among Us - Challenging Anti-Semitism’, a s part of the council’s ongoing commitment to tackling religious and race-based hate crime.

No contemporary conversation on racism and religious hatred is complete without confronting anti-Semitism.  Through presentations from our acclaimed speakers, it will be outlined why and how, in a  time of intensely heightened awareness of minorities and the discrimination, Jewish communities have continued to fall victim to hate crime, speech and hateful divisive narratives.  Notwithstanding, that the discourse in every area of politics has become toxic, amplified by the echo chambers of social media and reinforced by partisan media outlets.  Most importantly our speakers will explore what we can all do to fight back against the rising tide of hate and affirm liberal and cohesive values during these uncertain and testing times.  .

The webinar provides a platform for policy makers, practitioners, educators and ordinary citizens to discuss the most recent perspectives on inequality, extremism and hate crime facing the Jewish community in Britain and globally.
