Launch of ‘Urban Partnerships: delivering sustainable urban water management through local action’

This new guidance from CaBA’s Urban Water Group (https://catchmentbasedapproach.org/about/caba-working-groups/)  is about delivering better water management through local engagement. It has been designed to help CaBA partnerships play a key part in maintaining and improving the liveability and sustainability of the urban environment.

It shows how, through local action to deliver direct improvements to urban water quantity and quality, and introducing nature-based solutions to reduce flood risk, CaBA partnerships can drive improvements to the public realm, regenerating and invigorating communities and enabling economic growth and sustainable development.

It provides partnerships with guidance on:

  • The importance of integrated water management in delivering sustainable urban catchments
  • How to engage with key partners
  • How to empower communities
  • How to get and use data and information
  • How to develop projects and secure funding

It is illustrated by 24 case studies to show it isn’t as difficult as it might sound.
