The ability to generate project related data is rapidly exceeding the ability for some companies to mange its use effectively.

In many cases this is leading to data proliferation and overload without any noticeable improvement in project performance, quality, or predictability. What if this data could be tapped to its full potential? Eliminating the need to transcribe, amend and move data between systems, allowing for a verifiable ‘single source of truth’. What richness can be found in this data to develop intelligent dashboarding and benchmarks? Where could this be extended to automatically trigger actions to ensure projects are delivered as predictably and efficiently as possible?

Delivering ‘digital transformation’ to meet the future needs of industry is a hot topic, however the practical detail of what this means in the context of delivering projects is often lacking or ill-defined. To help companies communicate and frame their current and desired level of project control capability, a common framework has been developed around 5 levels of predictive performance. These performance levels will be introduced in terms of what they can achieve for the project management organisation, and the practical skills and capabilities the project controllers of the future will require to deliver these benefits.
