Research shows that securing a job and a place to live are the main barriers that prevent someone’s ability to realise their potential once they have a criminal record.

In this free seminar Surini will outline the background to reducing reoffending and why employment of people with convictions matters. She will also share the policy context for change then and now.  Surini will then explain the work of New Futures Network and the key challenges and successes in increasing employment outcomes for prison leavers’.

Caragh is the Lived Experience Lead for HMPPS and will discuss why it is so important to ensure inclusion for all staff who have lived experience of the Criminal Justice System, inviting a better work environment. This in turn will support the government’s ambition to recruit 1,000 prison leavers to the Civil Service by 2023

Graham will then share how Greene King has supported 100 ex-offenders into work and discuss their journey so far and how it fits into their overall strategy. During his talk Graham will review the challenges, successes, current activity and Greene Kings future plans. Graham will conclude with a final call on what needs to change to really help the system and those within it going forwards.
