Historic Environment Skills Forum

Short description:

A group set up to support the delivery of the Heritage Sector Resilience Plan, focused on the Skills work led by the Cross Sector Historic Environment Skills Forum.

Action 1.1 of the Heritage Sector Resilience Plan states

“Develop a new, cross-sector forum to bring the many ongoing conversations together, to discuss ongoing skills challenges, trial new approaches, and maintain a close overview of the changing picture”.

The Cross-Sector Heritage Skills Forum (“the Skills Forum”) will provide the vehicle to help the sector prioritise the strategic and systemic skills issues that challenge us and lead the development of the interventions required to meet them.

The purpose of the Skills Forum is to

  • Share knowledge and good practice across the different aspects of the sector
  • Provide a collective view of the skills challenges facing the sector
  • Prioritise further action to tackle these, considering their impact on the resilience of the sector as a whole; rather than focusing on individual sub-sector interests
  • Through Action Groups, seek to deliver specific interventions that address the challenges
