Case study

A collaborative project by Wigan Council, Social Finance, and other local authorities to enhance data analysis in children's social care using Python, an open-source programming language. It addresses challenges local authorities face in adopting new analytical tools due to restrictive software policies and the limitations of existing software like Excel.

This initiative addressed several challenges local authorities face, including software limitations and data sharing policies. It resulted in the development of web applications for data analysis without needing a local Python installation. This effort not only improved data quality management but also fostered a community of Python-skilled analysts across local authorities, enhancing data-driven decision-making in children's social services.
