With algorithms seeming to generate unintended, or biased ‘advice’ in high-profile cases such as the various fiascos during the summer of 2020, the tech company Synthesized has released a free tool that aims to detect and remove algorithmic bias . According to Synthesized, the tool highlights areas where bias is detected in uploaded datasets, and can even automatically ‘rebalance’ the biased data.
