Socitm and ALGIM have created a sample corporate policy for the use of Generative AI in local government. This covers purpose/use/risks/compliance/review and councils are welcomed to adopt this as a starting point for emerging corporate policies.

The purpose of this document is to provide a framework for the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, Bard, Bing or other similar tools by council employees, contractors, developers, vendors, temporary staff, consultants or other third parties.
