We are considering adding a local plan policy to request compensation in respect of CAVAT (Capital Asset Value of Amenity Trees) and the loss of them during development , this will become a S106 obligation and the monies collected will be used to create funds for a ‘Tree Bank’ in Havant Borough. Are there any local authorities already collecting this type of payment beyond a Highway Authority? We would be interested in learning from your experiences
