Hi,

Are all Authorities index linking their CIL contributions?

It seems like an awful lot of money for the subscription to obtain the rates and an awful lot of work to keep on top of any changes!

I look forward to hearing how you are all dealing with this.

We have index linked CIL contributions where CIL liable applications were granted planning permission  after April 1st this year, a year on from Chaging Schedule adoption......the  relevant index had increased by about 5% over that year.  It did create a bit of work re-estimating the amount of CIL due on Uniform the planning administration system for those submitted before April 1st but determined after.

We already subscribed to BCIS as all our S106 contributions are indexed.  If you have  design/building  colleagues in your property department they may already subscribe.  You cannot share the info between authorities due to copyright issues but with the percentage increase the subscription may pay for itself  quite quickly.

Rebecca, the indexation is mandatory as it forms a part of the CIL calculation formula in Reg.40. There are all sorts of issues relating to the indexation which have been aired on this forum inthe past. We took the view that we had no choice but to subscribe.
