Renewable Energy policy without a strategy?!
Hi,
My local authority is in a position whereby we have a Reg 18 consultation upcoming, and we need a draft policy, but we do not have an up to date strategy as required by NPPF as
of yet to support it. We are thinking of a criteria based policy to guide location of proposals, its just we havent strong evidence to identify locations/opportunties at this stage.
Would anyone have any suggestions of suitable wording for an 'interim'policy, whilst we establish the need/scope for a strategy? Also the same is for energy efficiency of new developments, however most of this seems that this will be delivered thorugh building control standards.
A renewables study was done for the County was done a few years ago, and slightly outdated. If anyone is able to offer advice, or in a similar experience, I would be happy to have a chat.
Thankyou
Lindsay
