Entry level exception sites - Public forum - Planning Advisory Service (PAS)

Does anyone have much experience of these?  Our adopted policy called Affordable Housing Exception Sites was adopted before the NPPF introduced Entry Level Exception Sites as a separate thing and we now have our first few applications coming in.  Our adopted policy requires  sites to be meeting a need at parish level, while the NPPF talks about " the authority's area" in relation to entry level sites - but we are obviously keen to ensure homes are in the locations in which they are most needed.  I have found a guidance note from North Devon and Torridge but not much else.  Many thanks,
