Neighbour notification letters/site notices - Public forum - Planning Advisory Service (PAS)

Has anyone's authority moved from sending neighbour notification letters to using email alerts ( or other digital means) instead? If so, has there been any positive/negative feedback from residents?

If  you are using email alerts via a service that residents sign up for do you think more or less people are being notified than when neighbour notification letters were used?
