Biodiversity compensation and offsetting

Former Member, modified 12 Years ago.

I'm working on a short piece of research for Defra on costs (to developers and LPAs) of compensatory measures for biodiversity required of development to inform emerging policy on biodiversity offsetting.  We are looking for suitable case studies of development where such compensation (rather than 'mitigation') has been required and secured through s106.  If anyone has an example they think may be suitable please let me know asap.  Many thanks David

Hi,

It might be worth contacting the managers of the 6 pilot areas.

David Lowe, Principal Ecologist for Warwickshire County Council has been leading the pilot for Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull. You can contact the team at: planningecology@warwickshire.gov.uk.

Hope that helps,
