We have recently consulted on a preferred option for seeking affordable housing financial contributions from student accommodation. We are currently working with interested parties toward articulating an appropriate policy framework and mechanism for potential implemention of this policy. I am aware of the recently adopted Southwark Core Strategy policy seeking primarily on-site contributions from student developments. Are there any other local authorities that are developing a similar approach? Or even better, that already have a submission or adopted policy of this kind? A steer as to where to find and share on this area of policy would be much appreciated.
