Wither RSS?

Anyone got any idea if/when CLG intend to formally revoke regional strategies? It's been a while now since the SA consultation on their revocation. We're about to publish our core strategy and submit later this year. As we're not following RSS targets, ideally we would want the comfort of RSS being revoked before we submit.

Re: Wither RSS?

Bob Neill stated at the MPA/RTPI Minerals Conference that they're working on it and will sort it as quickly as they can, but have no definite timetable....

This may be a lazy question, but until they are revoked are they still part of the development plan or was this status removed by the Localism Act?

Re: Wither RSS?

Does anybody know if there is a copy of the adopted West Midlands RSS 2008 online? www.wmra.gov.uk is no more and all the links on our webpages are now broken!

I stumbled across the adopted West Midlands RSS 2008 whilst looking for the East of England one a few weeks back - here it is: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/pdf/APD%201%20West%20Midlands%20Regional%20Spatial%20Strategy%20January%202008.pdf

Whilst I recognise that no one has asked about the RSS for SE England, this is available on National Archives and the equivalent information for other regions may also be available here. Information from the former South East England Regional Assembly is available at: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100908090945/http://www.southeast-ra.gov.uk/index.html The website of their successor body (The South East England Partnership Board) is available at http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100908090945/http://se-partnershipboard.org.uk/

The National Archives thankfully seem to have archived selected regional Government Office and regional planning body web pages. They can be accessed from the National Archive website, with a range of dates on which "snapshots" were taken: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/webarchive/atoz.htm#g For example, here are the archived 4NW and GONW webpages for the North West RSS: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100528142817/http://www.4nw.org.uk/whatwedo/issues/environment/?page_id=457 http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20100528142817/http://gos.gov.uk/gonw/Planning/RegionalPlanning/?a=42496
