I was wondering how those authorities who do not have a locally defined threshold are dealing with the 2,500sqm figure set in the NPPF. We have had a number of schemes, which have fallen below this figure, which in the past we may have asked for impact testing to be done. Has anyone considered asking for the test arguing cumulative impact, or asking for impact testing when extensions take a store over 2,500sqm? The grounds for asking for these things are obviously debateable but the NPPF, in my reading leaves, rooms for interpretation. Any examples you can point to in other authorities would be welcome!
