This series of top tips and insights highlights the experiences of Local Authority Directors in areas that engaged in surge community testing in early February 2021. Please note, these are early insights of a situation that is still developing and the Councils sharing their insights are continuously working to improve their operation.  

Surge community testing was used to identify the prevalence of the variants of COVID-19. It is hoped that when other Local Authorities stand up surge community testing, this will be a useful resource for local authority teams preparing for and standing up the operation.
