Local authorities from around the world pay special attention to the lessons learned between Nations. They see them as a way to inspire new ways of thinking and stimulate performance improvements.

UDiTE plays an important role in regards to facilitate the exchange of information, ideas and experience between managers and executive heads of high-ranking local governments from all over Europe. This enables knowledge sharing and support the continuous professional development of local government professionals.

Therefore launched the initiative "Sharing knowledge", which is intended to tip how much information is available in different formats, on local management.

You will find below a series of training videos that address different subjects of interest: from the managerial strategies of coaching, to more technical aspects related to the management and local government, such as the European legislation on public procurement, tax systems or environment.

UDITE participates regularly in European Union level networking opportunities including the European Week of Regions and Cities, Green Week and European Sustainable Energy Week.

79th NATIONAL CONGRESS OF SNDGCT MEETS IN ARRAS AT A KEY TIME

Solidarity, proximity, exchanges, conviviality, collective strength… so many words that members use to describe the SNDGCT national congress. The event was a key opportunity to stay informed of news affecting local communities, the profession, and the 2020 actions to be implemented by the Syndicate. Against the backdrop of a new public service bill in France, the timing of congress with the upcoming 2020 municipal elections.

GREEN WEEK 2020 POSTPONED

The European Commission has just confirmed that EU Green Week event that was due to take place between 2nd and 5th June 2020 has been postponed until the Autumn. The event forms the focus of a bid for a joint exhibition stand by UDITE and VEOLIA under the banner of biodiversity and how local authorities through their projects, decisions and partnerships with private and community sector. .

EUROPEAN WEEK OF REGIONS AND CITIES 2020 - 12th / 15th OCTOBER 2020

The 2020 edition of European Week of Regions and Cities is approaching fast and UDITE is bidding once again for a partnership workshop with business partner VEOLIA. This years edition normally takes place between 12th and 15th October 2020 in Brussels. It is possible that it will be followed the week after by the rescheduled Green Week (TBC)

EWRC 2019 - DISTRICT HEATING AND COOLING: CITIES GOING CIRCULAR FOR A CARBON NEUTRAL EUROPE

On Thursday 10th October, 2019, UDITE co-hosted, with Energy Cities, the Interreg HeatNet project Codema, Leidal (a Flemish intercommunal organisation) and Veolia, District heating and cooling: cities going circular for a carbon neutral Europe. Kicking off the session the moderator, Kristina Dely from Energy Cities invited the audience to indicate (using Sli.do) which sector they represented. The breakdown showed local/regional authorities: 47%, NGO 13%, Business 7%, National-European decision maker 13%, and other 20%.
