MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - SUMMER 2022

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT - SUMMER 2022

Message from President of UDiTE Stephane Pintre

Dear Colleagues, We were finally able to hold our executive committee face-to-face on the 3rd June in Brussels. Whilst not all of you were able to attend, I hope that the hybrid model facilitated your presence. In this hybrid world in which we live and work now, videoconferencing not only makes our community of European Chief Executives more accessible, but as a network even more necessary now. My initial focus in the first months of the mandate focused on setting out our project and identifying how we should proceed. Now the time has come to get to work on delivery. We have already started as planned with the work behind the scenes that includes a revision of the statutes. As we conclude a final phase of member consultation, everyone is aware that the statutes are vital if we are to ensure the proper functioning of our association. I hope that we will have adopted these revised statutes at the next general assembly. We have also made a great start on our 2022 projects, in particular with the successful delivery of our Green Week 2022 webinar in June (you can read more about this event in this newsletter) and the European Week of Regions and Cities that will take place on 26th October now that our application has been successfully retained by the European Commission and the Committee of the Regions.  UDiTE and Veolia are delighted to be part of the main programme once again. At the same time, we are starting work on a new comparative study on occupational health systems with a new French partner, MNT. UDiTE has a significant track record in delivery comparative studies over the last 25 years and we now intend to refresh and update all of the existing studies with our partners through a new initiative – “Project Siena 2023", a project you can read more about in this newsletter that will be discussed formally at the next Executive Committee. The ELOGE project is also up and running with a successful relaunch event delivered in Malta in June that will be followed by a second phase in Portugal in September. I was delighted to represent UDiTE in a high-level European conference in Bordeaux on procurement and public purchasing. This has allowed us to build upon a long-standing SNDGCT partnership with the large French purchasing group UGAP.  My presentation to the conference can be found in this newsletter. Finally, we have some valuable information to share with you. One of them concerns the SNDGCT, whose national representatives will be renewed on 17th September, 2022. Until we meet again in the autumn, I would like to wish you all a nice summer.
