Welcome to PHE’s KHub network. We ask you to follow these guidelines when producing content for KHub. If you do not follow these guidelines, your content may be removed.
This guidance outlines how you should:
- ensure your content is legal
- use appropriate language
- stay on topic
- respect our diverse community
- remove personal information
- make sure your content is non-commercial
- check if you can discuss your participation in trials
- follow GDS guidance
Ensure your content is legal
When you write for KHub, you must ensure that your content is not:
- infringing third party copyright
- breaching personal privacy and data rights
You need to fully reference content copied from another person or site to the original author. If you are unsure who originally produced the content, do not use it.
Your posts must not encourage any illegal activity. Content that discusses illegal activity but is relevant to public health may be allowed. Check with your group facilitator.
Use appropriate language
Do not use language that is offensive, threatening or inflammatory. This includes, but is not limited to, swearing and obscene comments.
You should only discuss religion, sex and politics within the context of public health. For example, how suicide is the leading cause of death in men under the age of 50.
Your comments should also be written in English, so we can moderate them.
Stay on topic
Your posts must relate to public health. Comments that are unrelated to this topic may be deleted.
You must only post content that is factually correct to the best of your knowledge. You should not offer medical advice of any kind.
Do not post the same comment multiple times, as the content may be interpreted as spam and subsequently deleted.
Respect our diverse community
PHE employees are from many different cultures and have varying beliefs.
You may post content that disagrees with other community members but do not:
- personally attack other community members
- make derogatory statements or accusations about others, regardless of whether they are community members or not
- message many community members at once
- send repeat or unwelcome messages
You are accountable for any comments you post. We will delete posts that we deem inappropriate.
Remove personal information
Do not post personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details that may relate to you or other individuals.
Remember that all posts, including posts within the forums, articles, or stories, are viewable to the public and are visible to search engines.
Make sure your content is non-commercial
Do not make any commercial endorsement or promotion of any product, service or publication, including requests to:
- take legal action
- participate in a fundraiser
- sell a product or service
- take part in surveys or studies
Petitions that do not involve commercial interests may be allowed. Check with your group facilitator.
Check if you can discuss your participation in trials
If you are participating in a clinical trial and wish to discuss this with other members, you must check if your trial allows participants to share information, such as reactions to medications, before the trial is completed. If your trial does not have such rules in place, we encourage you to discuss your participation and experiences.
Follow GDS guidance
