Aligning timelines between local plan reviews and neighbourhood planning - Public forum - Planning Advisory Service (PAS)

Has anyone experience of matching timelines between local plan reviews and neighbourhood plans. We have a neighbourhood plan under development that requires the local plan to update some of its policies before the neighbourhood plan policies can be applied. It looks like the neighbourhood plan may be ready for examination before the local plan is. Should we be suggesting the neighbourhood plan holds back on examination until the local plan review has been through examination?
