Just to update those colleagues who may be testing the use of the PDF images from the planning portal. The problems you will experience are. 1. If you use Adobe Reader 8 or 9 you cannot delete individual measurements you have put on a drawing, there is only Revert which removes all measurements. 2. The PDF documents are locked so they cannot be rotated and saved, you only have rotate to view. 3. Because of the locking you cannot merge PDFs, the merge in Adobe asks for the document password. 4. Reader 9 has problems at times e.g. yesterday we were testing vertical measurements but measurements were displaying on the image horizontal. To solve the inability to rotate and save, and merge, we are testing a shareware unlocker. Found a problem with Adobe 8 Standard in that the snap toolbar does not appear but that is resolved by right clicking the mouse and changing settings in Preferences > 2D. Our officers are using Adobe 7 Professional to measure documents in our pilot. There is a very limited guide to measuring on the Portal version 1 dated December.
