A Peer review of our service indicated that we should consider reducing the size of our planning committee. Can anyone point me to some "good practice guidance" or any other source where the relevant issues are discussed.

Trevor: We are also looking at reduction of committee size. Our DCC is 12 and proportional under Widicombe rules. 7 tory, 2 lab, 2 green and 1 lib. we are looking to reduce committee to 7 or 9 "professional" members who are highly trained. I too could find no guidance on numbers. Problem is we have 51 members and they all want a "job". Planning is seen by many as high profile and is sought after. I await developments Phill
