Vehicle access and parking provision in the Norfolk Broads

We have case in the Norfolk Broads National Park, where the owners of a traditional summer house (1916) want to widen an existing footbridge by 300mm to accommodate a car and have the right to park their car on their land. Concerns have been raised by the PA that the vehicle would be visible from the river and lead to "suburbanization". For 7/8 years the owners have been parking a large boat on a trailer in the same location for 7 months over the winter period and the exisitng bridge has been used for access. There is currently no hardstanding only woodchips to support the boat and this condition would not change (no hardstanding is proposd), The car would only be parked there for 2 months at best, because it is a summer property only. The bridge would be flush with the ground (below 30mm) but piling would be required. The access from the road is existing and access is gained be a right of way. The Bridge is located at the rear of the property Can the LA control this? Does parking a car on private property need permission? The applicant is willing to screen the area, with planting/screen.

Hi Julie. You may have more luck if you post this query in our enforcement forum. That's where this type of issue gets chewed over. I'd move it for you, but I don't know how.
