General Accessibility to New Dwelling House
I have had a planning refusal from a welsh unitary. It is on one ground only and it boils down to the fact that we propose a house 42m away from its dedicated car park spaces and it's courtyard where service vehicle would call. To reach the house from the courtyard, users would walk along a DDA compliant 1.4 or 1.8 m wide path. It would take them less than a minute. The actual wording is that 'the development will not be generally accessible to all future residents'. I think this is totally unreasonable - do you? How can this be refused yet legions of applications in new developments such as Cardiff Bay and SA1 in Swansea get approved where users park a lot further than 42 m away from their front door! And where could I go in Welsh Govt or Manual for Streets or County Surveyors Standards to justify my position. Any help gratefully received.
