Councillor training using old cases
I've heard good things from a few councils who use old cases as training materials for planning committees. They remove or change a few names and hold a dummy committee as a training event. This allows open discussion and debate about the role of the councillors. And, because it is a real application, the process can end with a photo of the actual development (or appeal decision). We (PAS) may take this idea and run with it nationally, as I can imagine it takes a bit of setting up at a local level. Anyone got any advice for us ?
