As part of preparing the supporting information for the HDT we have
extended a spreadsheet that some councils were already using to
monitor their housing pipeline to include some judgements about issues
and potential actions. It allows people to collate and summarise how
much capacity is "locked up" either in certain typologies of
site or because of common factors. This, in turn, allows LPAs to know
which actions might unlock the most capacity and so be worth prioritising.
We have already had a couple of suggestions to improve it:
- to add a "key contact" so the person that is likely to
know the latest news is nice and clear
- to change "capacity" to that you can nett off dwellings
already delivered
Probably more tweaks in the next week or two. See also a guide that
explains each field in more detail - although remember that the goal
of these tools is not to make a lovely complete spreadsheet with every
cell filled in. It is to help you reach a judgement about what actions
are most likely to deliver results - so taking a representative sample
or summarising are all allowed
