NPPF definition of Edge of Centre

Hi all, I have been discussing with my colleagues the NPPF definition of Edge of Centre found in the Glossary. For retail purposes it states..."a location that is well connected to and upto 300m of the primary shopping area". There are a couple of ways which this could be interpreted and the word that is throwing us is 'OF the primary shopping area'. Does it mean within 300m of the boundary of a primary shopping area (if so why doesn't it say this in the way it does for other town centre uses) or does it mean something else....?! How are other people interpreting it?! Thanks, Leanne

Re: NPPF definition of Edge of Centre

Yes, I'd say within 300m of the boundary of the primary shopping area. The NPPF definition could better have said "up to 300 metres from" rather than "up to 300 metres of" but I can't think of any other logical interpretation.
