I had a useful tip from the portal recently. Consider applications under reg 3. We have around 40 applications / year made by other departments. While it isn't straighforward (they'll often use agents / architects etc) they are internal and should be receptive to your message. Otherwise, we've rejigged our home page to make the online process more noticeable. Finally I know that some of the London boroughs clubbed together and invited multiple agents to a presentation, including the opportunity to submit an application there and then. HTH Rich

We are about to mail shot all of our regular agents detailing the advantages of using the Portal as well as identifying agents who submit Building Regulation applications. We would also look out for paper applicants where the plans have obviously been drawn using some form of CAD and include those in the same mailshot. Our PP area rep has also offered to hold workshops and 'one to ones' with a small number of agents to push home the benefits. Regards, Andy.
