Using the joint strategic needs assessment

To further some work on making the linkages between spatial planning and improving public health in communities, I would like to hear about any experiences that people have of using the joint strategic needs assessments as either part of the evidence base for preparing the LDF or as a means of assessing development proposals to see whether they are delivering against the needs and objectives identified by the JSNA. It seems to me that this is potentially a fantastic resource for planners to use as it details Joint Strategic Needs Assessment identifies current and future health and wellbeing needs in light of health data evidence and an audit of existing services, this is then intended to inform future service planning taking into account evidence of effectiveness. Anyone out there with any views or exerience of using this? Phillipa Silcock (PAS)
