fire hydrant provision - Public forum - Planning Advisory Service (PAS)

Does current legislation permit a Fire Service to work with their local authority to impose planning conditions on developments. The planning condition would be a requirement to provide fire hydrants at the developers expense, on new residential and commercial developments.
