So the government claims no deal was done with Surrey County Council it just happens that they benefit from the formula for allocating the additional funds more than any other authority. This has provoked outrage from Labour at both the injustice and the government's barefaced lie that a behind the scenes deal hadn't been struck. But hold the hypocrisy the government of the day always,   "adjusts " funding formulas to favour Local Authorities of the same political party as those in power. This time, this government was less subtle about it but that's probably a reflection of the over confidence a government experiences when the opposition is in such a feeble state. Many in local government will think Surrey played a very good game of poker and certainly the vulnerable and elderly people of Surrey will see the benefit. Of course this is not ethical or moral it's politics.
