At Scottish Book Trust we provide a free online and/or in person workshop for carers to use with those they care for who are living with dementia. It is called Reading is Caring. These workshops are available in Edinburgh, mid, east and west Lothian and the Scottish Borders.
We would like to reach and support the current 8,000 people who are living with dementia in Edinburgh by involving their carers in the online or in person workshops.
Can you help us reach these people to let them know about this opportunity and/or advise us of the best way to do this?
Please refer to:
• the trailer on our website that provides a summary of what the workshop covers, it can be found at Reading is Caring - Scottish Book Trust
• the attached poster and leaflet (we can provide you with hard copies of these if you have places where they can be located for carers to access?)
• we have been delivering the workshops for three years now and have had x2 independent evaluations of the programme. I attach a summary of the reports but if you are interested, I can send the full reports too.
• If you have any professional care staff and/or family care partners who would like to attend the workshop please contact readingiscaring@scottishbooktrust.com for a timetable and further booking information.
If you have any questions please get back in touch, if it would be useful to have a meeting in person or online I or my colleague Keira are happy to arrange this too.
Thank you for you help in advance with assisting us to reach carers to let them know this support programme is available or if you can provide any advice about how best to do this.
